A Beginners Guide To Making Instagram Reels

1 .Quick Setup

 

Setting up Reels is a snap. Open the Instagram app and follow this easy checklist:

  • Open the stories camera and select ‘Reels’.
  • Choose the duration of your reel before you begin recording. The time will be locked in once you make the selection.
  • After you make your selection, you’re ready to hit record.
  • You can use the timer function to allow for a hand-free recording experience.

Remember that you may also upload previously recorded content or videos to Reels, which bypasses the time limit requirement.

2. Make Your Reels A Masterpiece

You managed to record your 1st reel, congratulations on that! Now It’s time to move on to the next step of completing your IG reel by selecting effects for your new creation, including audio. Using popular audio helps you reel gets easily noticed on popular trends and sprouts engagement. If you don’t like any of the sounds, you are at liberty to upload your own audio and use it on your reel(s). Reels with original audio will be credited to you.

The next step would be customizing your reel with effects or a filter. If you uploaded videos from your gallery, you can even re-arrange the order of your videos. Another way of creating reels is repurposing your TikTok videos as Instagram reels or editing your videos using other applications and uploading them to Instagram as reels.

3. Create Your Reel To your Brand Liking

Now that you know how to create reels, you now realize you can only create reels that are brand specific to who you are as a person or as a business. If you are a fashion and fitness enthusiast, creating reels in line with what your brand communicates will grow your audience. If you are a business, use reels to sell your services and products to your customers.

You can either use text-based reels or record them with you in them.

To get the most out of your reels;

  • Push reels to your feed.
  • Create reels such as ‘a month dump’ or jump of popular reel trends.
  • Take old stories and use them to create reels.
  • Upload your TikTok videos to reels.
  • Add titles to your reel cover photos.
  • Film yourself giving tips (every industry is covered here)
  • Share customer testimonials or success stories.
  • Feature your employees.
  • Create before and after.
  • Promote another business.
  • Share a day in your life or outfit of the day.
  • Product highlight or tutorial
