Hello everybody,
Happy 2023!
A new year brings new hopes, new dreams, and new beginnings. We should reflect on what our lives have taught us over the last year and rectify our mistakes through resolutions.
In 2023 and beyond, your goal as a social media manager should be to improve client relations, communications, and creative skills so you can generate new content and remain relevant. If you often struggle to populate content calendars or come up with fresh ideas, the following ways will help you generate creative ideas.
1 . Research Frequently Asked Questions

Look at frequently asked questions from your audience. You can do this by auditing the comment sections on your social media posts, your DMs, blog posts or questions people ask via email or during live streams.
Note: In addition, the use of polls and ‘ask question’ stickers will help you gather the information you need to help you generate new content.
2 . SEO On Social Media

Did you know that Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & Tik Tok are cutting into Google’s core products? These platforms are a literal goldmine for content research, providing you with a front-row seat to the search terms & keywords consumers are “Googling” off Google. You can simply type a keyword and search for the type of content you are looking for.
You can search on Instagram and Tik Tok using keywords to find photos and videos, hashtags, accounts, audio, tags, and places. Tap at the bottom to go to Search & Explore. Tap Search in the search bar at the top.
As a social media manager, you should optimize your account search to help you narrow your focus and expose you to a variety of content ideas.
3 . Competitor Analysis

A competitive analysis can help you learn the ins and outs of how your competition works, and identify potential opportunities where you can outperform them. Spend a couple of minutes on your competitor’s social media channels or website. See what’s out there and how you can make it better. Do not steal their work, use it as inspiration to make your own work better.
Keep in mind that these are just a few methods you can use to generate creative content ideas as a social media manager. Don’t forget that reposting & repurposing content that has performed well in the past is also a smart way to fill your content calendar, especially if you’re feeling burned out creatively.
A Word From Our Team
The employees behind a company are often as important as the company itself, which is why we’re sharing our thoughts on social media trends to kick start the year
When it comes to social media and the various trends, and what gets the most engagement. Our staff was asked the following questions, and here is what they had to say in response.
- Name/Describe your favourite trend(s) and how creators can/are making the most out of it.
- What will be the biggest social media trend of 2023?

A . “Use/Hype of video content. Globally the trend has taken over the socials. Locally I feel like we are missing the mark creatively, and there is still so much that can be done, the creatives in the Zambian tourism space are definitely on the right path!.”
B . “In line with the video content, i think it might be the growth of influencers creating content on behalf of brands/companies, as well as collaboration posts; locally that is. Big brands are realizing the power of authentic/well-captivating video content.”

A . “Filterless and behind the scenes content. Creators are showing us a snippet of what their worlds look like in the mini vlogs and the process of making a favourite meal. This trend attracts a flood of engagement.
B . “Remix feature on viral videos to promote brands.”

A . “Short-form videos are and have been entertaining. It’s been good to see how creative people and brands alike can be in getting out their message within 30 seconds, sometimes less and putting different spins on popular audios to suit their message. The rise of short-form video content, I feel, has forced people to push their creative limits further and I love to see it!”
B . “Tik Tok continues to dominate social media these days and not only among Gen Z’s as before. There are now more millennials joining the bandwagon and I see it continuing to dominate social media this year. Brands best get ready for it!”

A . “Rise of the Gen Z in any form of marketing. I feel like the Millennials/gen z are the new leaders of social media and everything they do easily becomes a trend in marketing and business strategy.”
B . “Short-form video content will continue to dominate with customer experience as the main focus because customer experience is key to business growth and strategy.”

A . “Tik Tok, sharing tips and tricks on different things.”
B . “Tik Tok could still take it this year.”
We hope your content generation process remains creative in the light of the points above!
